Mahnoor Malik is a multidisciplinary artist, natural dyer and climate specialist based between New York, NY and Rome, Italy. Her work stems on journey into identity, the longing for home - and the role we play with the earth and the changing environment with food and life. In her ongoing photobook chaman, “urdu for the word garden” she explores a late-grandfather’s poem, the resilience of mother earth, green silk, familial ties, and the double-edged sword of a rose garden. With burrki, she explores the importance of food waste and natural dye practices. Each piece reflects the importance of preserving indigenous knowledge and south-asian plant based traditions. Each piece is sustainable and/or designer sourced and natural dyed.
